Photoshop for Windows, GIMP for Linux

We all know that Adobe Photoshop for Windows kick asses. But Photoshop living with Linux is…

Well, forget about it. Use GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) instead. Its free and works just as Photoshop would do. It can be used as a paint program, photo retouch lab, batch photo processing, renderer, converter and etcetera.

You can get GIMP through the Ubuntu Software Center easily, or fetch it via terminal:

sudo apt-get install gimp

Youll also consider downloading GIMP Studio and GIMP Painter so you are not limited to the basic feature:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shnatsel/gimp-paint-studio
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mizuno-as/gimp-painter
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp-paint-studio
sudo apt-get upgrade
