How to speed up browsing with Google Chrome on Ubuntu

Google Chrome may sometimes be slow especially if its on Ubuntu, due to the slow DNS fetching. Speeding it up a bit is easy.

Steps how to tweak Google Chrome

1. Open the Linux terminal prompt.

2. Run sudo gedit /etc/nsswitch.conf .

3. Find the following line hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4

4. Replace with hosts: files dns.
