[Finally] Microsoft Windows alternative, and much better than Linux: Introducing ReactOS

Anyone knows ReactOS? It is amazing to have a completely free Windows-like operating system for your computer, and it is not Linux based. Moreover, there’s no need to pay royalty fees, or hunted down by anti piracy guys! It is still on its alpha stage though – considering it open sourced, this pet project will entail many human hours, volunteers and sponsors to be completely done! I hope that people will notice and do something for this and help it shape the future the way we use computers…

“ReactOS is an Open Source effort to develop a quality operating system that is compatible with Windows NT applications and drivers. The ReactOS project, although currently focused on Windows XP/2003 drivers compatibility, is always keeping an eye toward compatibility with older version of Windows NT family ( NT 4.0, 2000 (NT 5.0)) and new Windows NT releases (Vista, etc). Applications (Win32 API) compatibility focus is Windows XP.” – ReactOS Team

One can get a hold of this software as a Live CD image, pre-installed on emulators, or the source file itself (for those who want to tinker around and build their own OS). Few Windows applications can be used without problems, it is very easy to install and boots faster.
