Easily defend your site from DDoS with DDoS Deflate

DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) is an attack that originates from many different (geographic and network topology) sources, on a network of networks such as the internet. This makes a server busy, or in a confused state of when and where it will serve its content, until it became overloaded with requests and shuts down its services.

A quick check on how many connected IP exist on your server can be done by:

netstat -ntu | awk ‘{print $5}’ | cut -d: -f1 | sort | uniq -c | sort -n

Upon inspection, if you found out that there are several requests from a single IP address, then its already unusual. You can accomplish an automated anti DDoS script to block these nasty DDoSers.

How to install DDoS Deflate

1. Open the terminal and download DDoS Deflate.

wget http://www.inetbase.com/scripts/ddos/install.sh
