Bank Routing Symbol Transit Number (BRSTN) is the common term for a Bank Identifier Code (BIC) used among by banks to transfer money. This is a 9-digit code identifying you country or bank.
In some online remittance or online jobs like oDesk, they allow funds transfer directly to your bank account. All you need is supply your bank details and the BRSTN Code so that the money will be deposited to the correct bank.
Usually you will only need to use the bank’s head office BRSTN. Any electronic fund transfer (EFT) or local fund transfer (LFT) will correctly route funds to your bank’s maintaining branch so you don’t have to worry about lost money.
