Add graphics to your Grub boot menu

Get a new graphical menu for your boring, text mode Grub menu as easy as 1, 2, 3.

A new package called Burg is a boot loader based on the Grub engine and uses an icon based menu selection at startup, a feature the latter lacks.

How to install Burg in Ubuntu Linux?

Run the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bean123ch/burg
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install burg burg-themes

After that, you have to install the boot loader

sudo burg-install /dev/???

Where ??? corresponds to your Ubuntu Linux drive. Mine was located at sda.

Now, update the boot configuration

sudo update-burg

Note: Backup all your data. A slight misconfiguration can make your computer unusable and it may take you to a painful re-installation of your system.
