Recent research published in the journal Therapeutic Advances In Pharmacology in February 2012 revealed that participants exposed to rosemary oil for a longer period of time performed better at basic cognitive tasks and reported feeling more content.
Twenty participants were secretly exposed to rosemary oil for a period between four and ten minutes. The results revealed that the longer the exposure, the greater the boost in mood as measured by a self-report questionnaire.
There are a number of ways you can reap the benefits from these essential oils. You could add a few drops to your evening bath, you could mix with a carrier oil (such as grape seed or almond oil) and massage them into your skin or you could combine a few drops with half a cup of distilled water in a mist spray bottle and spray regularly.
