How to install Webmin on Linux

If you have followed the instructions on Setting up LAMP (Linux Apache, MySQL, and PHP) correctly, installing Webmin would be useful to manage your entire server using a web interface. Well teach you how to do it in a breeze.

I will be using the IP address 192.168.0.10 for reference. You must change it to your correct IP or domain for it to work.

1. First, edit your sources.list

nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Include this repository:

deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib
deb http://webmin.mirror.somersettechsolutions.co.uk/repository sarge contrib

2. Install the signing key:

cd /tmp
wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc
apt-key add jcameron-key.asc

3. Initiate update and install Webmin:

apt-get update
apt-get install webmin

4. After installation, you could then login to your Webmin Panel at https://192.168.0.10:10000
